Pioneer Hybrid Maize brings hope to Awenare 4-H

Awenare 4-H in the Atiwa district, cultivated one Acre of Pioneer hybrid white maize in addition to vegetables. After the maize have matured, the club started facing problems with thieves. 4-H members then decided to harvest the maize fresh.  Mrs love Keteku, a female teacher at the school helped the kids to cook some of the maize, and gave it to the girls to sell. The project coordinator who was on monitoring tour in the district, joined the kids to celebrate the harvest.  Speaking to the members, he was very excited by the innovative ways the  kids were using to market the maize.
